In Lower Price Hill, our neighbors feel the impact of food insecurity every day. With the majority of our households living in concentrated poverty, food insecurity has a lasting, detrimental impact.
The Community Market is one of the only places in Lower Price Hill where residents can attain healthy food for their families. The choice pantry enables our neighbors to access free food to create healthy meals for their families. The Market also offers critical hygiene products and household items, which are not otherwise covered by food assistance benefits.
In 2016, Community Matters was able to provide emergency food assistance to more than 350 families in Lower Price Hill through the Community Market.
On Memorial Day, we will be participating in the Hunger Walk and 5K Run to benefit the Freestore Foodbank and their network of partner agencies.
Please join our team to support the Community Market and take a stand against hunger in the Lower Price Hill community.
Even if you can’t make it out on Memorial Day, your donations are critical to keeping our pantry shelves stocked, and all donations are tax-deductible. For more information about the Community Market, visit http://www.cmcincy.org.
