This past year was full of renewed connections, energy, and focus within our community. In several ways, the year also realized the ongoing efforts of Community Matters and our neighbors to facilitate renewed investment in the Lower Price Hill neighborhood.
In July, we officially merged with Education Matters to become one organization and unite all aspects of our work. The four pillars this merger formed— family sustainability, education pathways, resident leadership, and thriving community—reflect our roots and our lasting commitment to partner with neighbors to build a vibrant community.
This collective renewal brought significant accomplishments. Our team had the capacity to partner more deeply with families on their personal goals, a record number of adult learners earned their high school equivalency, resident engagement returned to pre-pandemic levels, and the first units of highly-anticipated, affordable housing were completed.
As we reflect on the prior year’s success, we invite you to stay connected with us over the coming months as we explore more deeply what a just community looks like. Thank you for being a part of this journey.
