This Memorial Day, you’re invited to join us for the 2023 Hunger Walk & 5K Run hosted by Freestore Foodbank! At Community Matters, we are dedicated to creating a thriving and just community for families living in and around Cincinnati’s Lower Price Hill neighborhood. One of the challenges we address is the pervasive food insecurity faced by nearly 2/3 of households. To tackle this issue, we established the Community Market, a low-barrier, choice pantry that provides staple dry goods, fresh produce, dairy, and meat, as well as household cleaning products and personal care items. The Community Market offers consistent access for families when they run into an emergency need. Over time, our community-centered social workers partner with these families as they make progress on goals that sustain their households. This year, we anticipate partnering with 600 families. We invite you to join our Hunger Walk team!
