The creation of Community Matters was driven by the energy and passion of the Lower Price Hill community. After working in our community for many years with Education Matters, we began to see trends in how people would fall through the cracks as they pursued opportunities. Two years ago, we began taking notes on these trends in order to explore what we could do and how/if we should get involved. We are firm believers in only doing things that make sense and are driven by community will. The role of the non-profit is not to dictate change, but to facilitate collective action. Thus, we collected community input, tested ideas, and began exploring a vision for the future of our community.
The result is Community Matters: a non-profit organization designed to work with our neighbors to remove barriers to opportunity and create a more thriving community together. Our goals are to empower people to create opportunities, engage the community in the development process, create ways to serve together, and re-build the local economy through social entrepreneurship. Everything we do is built upon a collective impact model by connecting our neighbors with existing opportunities and building new opportunities through partnerships.
We believe in the power of great people and we know that when we work together great things will happen. We hope that you will become a part our community.
