Meet Steven

Meet Steven. He’s one of two friendly faces on duty at the Washing Well helping to ensure that residents in Lower Price Hill (and beyond) have access to safe, affordable laundry. In addition to raising his 3 sons, he works as a security guard at Oyler School and is the Head Coach of the Oyler Madhatters Junior High Boys’ Basketball Team.

Steven has been on staff at the Washing Well since it first opened last June. When we asked him why he loves his position there so much, he said: “I just love the people. I was born and raised down here, and I like to get to know them. Everyone has a story!”

This past year, the Washing Well was open 5 days a week, and the community washed over 5,000 loads of clothes! We hope to expand those hours in the near future to make squeaky clean laundry even more accessible for our neighbors.

If you are interested in supporting the ongoing work of the Washing Well, join our Summer Fund Drive and make a tax-deductible donation today! Your gift of any amount will help us meet our $10,000 goal and ensure that the Washing Well and our other Community Matters programs are able to meet the ongoing needs of the community.
