LPH Thrives

LPH Thrives works to invest in the physical assets of our community to build vibrant spaces for residents to live, work, and play. Our key investments include affordable housing, vibrant community spaces, and locally-owned businesses.

Affordable Housing

Our primary focus is to secure a permanent base of affordable, community-owned housing. We are currently partnering with Habitat for Humanity and Community Learning Center Institute to renovate 10 single-family homes over the next 5 years. This will double the homeownership rate in our community.

We have also partnered with Over-the-Rhine Community Housing to renovate and construct 11 buildings to create 47 vibrant, affordable apartments through the Lower Price Hill Thrives project. All the units are secured as permanently affordable housing.

In the long-term, our goal is to secure 65% of housing in LPH as affordable to families living at or below 80% of the area median income.

Vibrant Community Spaces

LPH Thrives works with neighbors to activate vacant spaces into neighborhood assets. In the past several years, we have renovated our main campus, the Joe Williams Family Center, the Washing Well laundromat, Hatmaker Park, Evans Fields, three community gardens, and a new outdoor play space.

Locally-Owned Businesses

The Sanctuary and Washing Well laundromat both reflect examples of our investment in locally-owned and operated businesses in the community. Through the recent completion of the Lower Price Hill Thrives project, three additional new storefronts have been created to provide more options for locally-owned businesses.

Two storefront spaces on West 8th Street in Lower Price Hill will be available for lease beginning in summer 2024. Interested prospective tenants must complete and submit a leasing pre-application.
